Welcome to HOWDAM Racing, Cars Race is a website by Howard aka HowHard Clements-Gilbert. Originally started as a progress blog of a car rebuild of my Vauxhall Cavalier 2.5 V6 which myself and my best mate Adam (Howard/Adam = HowDam). The Cavalier unfortunately died an early death, however now my other mate ScottyDuz has bought himself a mk1 Fiesta and is going to rebuild it I have decided to create a new progress blog on his car.

While HOWDAM Racing also plan on getting another cars race to rebuild and modify it’ll be a little while before that happens, due to a number of reasons including a lack of budget more than anything at the moment, along with lack of spare time and the big problem of what car to pick?

Lots of ideas have gone through my head including a mighty Ford Ka, maybe with a V6 shoe horned into the front of it, Corsa B, or do I try and go for something more classic like a Ford Capri or Vauxhall Chevette. My main problem is I want something that will be nice and nimble in the corners yet I have a great passion for a grunty V6 simply for the ambience of the gurgle and bark when you floor it. The problem is nimble and corners and big grunty V6’s never seem to go together in a great cars race.

Anyway until the day comes that HOWDAM Racing get our hands dirty on a new project car rebuild for now we can give the whole process of ScottyDuz’s Mk1 Festa and many many other track cars that are simply a work of genius or artist or both! A blog featuring the finest cars race rebuilds you can find, detail is everything!

HOWDAM Build: ScottyDuz's Mk1 Festa!

ScottyDuz has always wanted a baby blue mk1 fiesta with a 2.0ltr Zetec engine in it, or more to the point he wanted to create one. ScottyDuz has finally taken the plunge and bought himself a mk1 fiesta, for £300 off ebay it's in need of work and that's a good thing, she should be getting dipped and then welded where needed and generally strengthened up as I write this!

HOWDAM Build: The Cav V6

Well for those who don't know, the HOWDAM Racing Cav died an early death :(

Unfortunately due to a SERIOUS lack of funds and time, the Cav had to be scrapped. A very very sad moment in my life which I still get angry at today, watch this space as HOWDAM Racing will get our hands on a new project car, whether it be in the next few weeks, months or even a year or 2. I keep thinking all I want is another Cavalier V6 and I probably will, but we shall see. All I do know is this cars race.
